Amish Friendship Bread Recipes

Enjoying the Old-Fashioned Goodness of Amish Friendship Bread Recipes is the easy part! Now learn how to make it and share the comfort with your friends.

To prepare Amish Friendship Bread Recipes you need Amish Friendship Bread Starter. If you don't have a starter, you can begin your own with this Amish Friendship Bread Starter Recipe

Once the bread starter has been mixed, and you have your four bags of the Friendship Bread Starter, just take one bag for yourself, remember? You have three bags to share with three best friend sisters.

Or, guess what? The bread starters can be frozen. When you need something special for a family who has lost a loved one, or you need a treat to take to work, just take one of your starter bags out of the freezer and make a loaf of homemade bread.

Your friends will love you and the bread!

Take Your Bag of Bread Starter and Add:

  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 Cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 and1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 large box instant vanilla pudding (Option: delete pudding and add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips.)

Other options: Add 1 cup chopped pecans and/or 1/2 raisins, or 2 apples, peeled and finely sliced)

Pour into 2 large, well-greased and sugared loaf pans. Mix a little cinnamon into the sugar, if desired.

You can sprinkle some extra sugar and cinnamon on top also.
Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Can also use a 9x13 pan for 45 minutes or until done.

I would strongly advise taking a picture of your freshly-baked Amish Friendship Breads and put it on our Something Sisters Facebook Page. Make sure your happy face is in the picture.

I think we need to have an Amish Friendship Bread Club! Prizes for all!
